ADVOCACY AND RESEARCH CASEWORKER
across our Justice and Advocacy Service with Adult-Survivors of Sexual
Abuse
DIGNITY4PATIENTS is looking to hire someone with experience in dealing
the victims? rights, criminal and civil processes, research,
consultation responses and report writing with a focus on human rights
law (especially public inquiries and adult survivors of sexual abuse).
If you are someone with a background in research and an interest in
working to tackle injustice and inequality, this might be the right
opportunity for you.
Our office is based in Drogheda and the Advocacy & Research Caseworker
will be required to attend our office (due to the sensitivity of
material) with some remote options subject to the organisational
requirements.
ABOUT DIGNITY4PATIENTS
DIGNITY4PATIENTS is an independent organisation providing Support,
Advocacy & Information to victims-survivors of patient sexual abuse.
Our aim to support victim-survivors in dealing with various justice
pathways when dealing with the trauma of patient sexual abuse. Helping
victims and survivors to seek justice? and working towards enhancing
their empowerment. In doing this we also aim to raise awareness of the
risks of patient sexual abuse to professional services providers and
the public in order to protect and prevent others from harm.
DIGNITY4PATIENTS?s main objectives are:
* To provide support, advocacy & information services to patients who
have experienced trauma due to sexual abuse or other sexual boundary
violations whilst a patient in any medical setting.
* Work on behalf of patients (who have been subject to sexual abuse
in a health care setting) and their families.
* Ensure that the patient?s autonomy and right to bodily integrity
are preserved and that the dignity of each patient is valued.
* Educate professionals in the health care system and the general
public about the impact of sexual abuse on patients and the breach of
professional boundaries.
* Provide training and education in the prevention of sexual abuse
of patients.
* Prevent abuse of patients, particularly sexual abuse.
In summary, our aims are to provide support to adult survivors of
sexual abuse and/or sexual boundary violations in health care settings
and to educate the public and Health Service to prevent such
incidents.
